THE INSTITUTION
The Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma was established by the then Executive Governor of Bendel State Professor A.F. Alli. The primary objective of the University is to provide educational opportunity for the numerous youths of the then Bendel State origin who could not get places in the few Federal Universities towards the fulfillment of their educational aspiration at the tertiary level. The University found practical expression for its existence with admission of 408 students spread across the then eight (8) Colleges. The first matriculation of the first set of students was on the 8th of February, 1982.

As at today, the University has a student population of about 28,000 spread across the programmes in the School of Postgraduate Studies, College of Medicine with two Faculties and 10 other Faculties, as well as the Directorate of Part-Time Degree Programme and Institute of Education. The University is located at Ujemen, Ekpoma with an Annex at Emaudo, Ekpoma.

1.  DIRECTOR, WORKS SERVICES DIVISION

SCHEDULE OF THE OFFICE
The Director of Works Services Division is the Head of the Division and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the Works Services Division and all Divisions’ activities in the University.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates should have an Engineering qualification registerable with the Council for the regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) plus 18 years post qualification experience. The candidates should have at least 18 years cognate experience.

2.  DIRECTOR, PHYSICAL PLANNING DIVISION

SCHEDULE OF THE OFFICE
The Director of Physical Planning Division is the Head of the Division and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for day to day administration of the activities of the Division in the University.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate must have either first or second Degree in any of the following disciplines: Building, Architecture, Quantity Surveyor, Estate Management and Engineering from a recognized Institution recognized by the respective Professional Bodies plus membership of the respective bodies with 18 years cognate experience.

3.  PRINCIPAL, UNIVERSITY SECONDARY SCHOOL

SCHEDULE OF THE OFFICE
The Principal of the University Secondary School is the Head of the School and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor through the Chairman, Board of Governors of the University Staff Schools for the day to day activities of the school.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A good Bachelor’s Degree in Education from a recognized University with at least 18 years post degree teaching experience in a reputable Post Primary Institution.

4.  DIRECTOR OF SPORTS

SCHEDULE OF THE OFFICE
Director of Sports is the Head of the Sports Division and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of sporting activities in the University.

QUALIFICATION FOR THE POST
The University Director of Sports should have a Degree in Physical Education with 18 years administration and Coaching experience. A possession of a higher Degree in Administration of Sports will be an advantage.

5. DIRECTOR, UNIVERSITY FARMS

SCHEDULE OF THE OFFICE
The Director of University Farms is the Head of the University Farms and is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the farms.

QUALIFICATIONS
The Director of University Farms should have a Degree in Agriculture plus 18 years relevant experience. A possession of a higher Degree in Agriculture will be an advantage.

6. HEADMASTER OR MISTRESS, UNIVERSITY PRIMARY SCHOOL

SCHEDULE OF THE OFFICE 
The Head Master or Head Mistress of the Primary School is the Head of the School and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the School through the Chairman, Board of Governors, University Staff Schools.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidate should have good Bachelor’s Degree in Education with 18 years cognate teaching experience in a reputable institution.

7. DIRECTOR, UNIVERSITY AUDIT

SCHEDULE OF THE OFFICE
The Auditor is the Head of the University Audit and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor on the day to day activities of auditing of all financial documents of the University.

QUALIFICATION
(a) B.Sc. Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent plus 18 years experience OR
(b) ACMA, ACCA, ACA, CPA, ANAN Plus 12 years experiences

8. METHOD OF APPLICATION

Candidate should forward the application with 25 copies of their detailed Curriculum Vitae(CV) providing information on the following:

  • Full names
  • Place and date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Marital Status
  • Number and ages of children
  • Permanent home address
  • Degrees indicating dates/class and institutions, as well as other qualifications and distinctions.
  • Statement of experience including full details of former and present posts.
  • List of publications, patents, designs and so on.
  • Extra curricula activities.
  • Possible date of availability for duties if appointed.

10. VISION STATEMENT
The candidates should as well state categorically and not more than 500 words the vision statement for the University for the next five (5) years regarding its physical/infrastructural development and management.

11. REFEREES
The applicants are required to state the names and addresses of three referees who are to forward references direct on their behalf to the University Registrar and Secretary to Council.

12. SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The salary and conditions of services are as applicable to the posts advertised above in Nigeria Universities and as may be determined from time to time by Edo State Government.

Monday, 5th June 2017:                  Second semester lectures begin

Part-Time Students Matriculation Ceremony Details For AAU Ekpoma  [2016/17]
The Management of the Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma (|AAU) have announced the matriculation ceremony date for the 2016/2017 academic session newly admitted part-time students and the procedure to get their matriculation gown from their faculties.

The Matriculation exercise of the Directorate of Part-Time Degree Programme has been scheduled as follows:

Date:  Friday, 16th June 2017.
Time: 10.00 a.m. prompt.
Venue: New Lecture Theatre, Emaudo Annex.

All AAU newly admitted students are to converge at the New ultra-modern multipurpose lecture theatre hall by 9:00 am.

AAU MATRICULATION CEREMONY – GOWN COLLECTION.
All matriculating students of the Directorate should please note the following in respect of the Matriculation Ceremony.

Matriculation gowns should be collected from the Directorate of Part-time, [Emaudo Annex] on the presentation of School fees receipt from Monday, 12th June, 2017.
The Matriculation gowns should be returned latest Friday, 23rd June, 2017.
The Matriculation gowns would attract a penalty of N200 per day for everyday it retained alter 23rd June, 2017.

All matriculating Students of the Directorate would be required to swear to a matriculation oath at the venue of the Matriculation Ceremony.
All matriculating students of the Directorate would be required to sign the Matriculation Register thereafter at the Office of the Secretary to the Directorate of Part-time/Diploma Progammes at Emaudo Annex,

Only duly matriculated students with Identity cards would henceforth be recognized as bonafide students to be allowed into lecture and examination halls.
The process of Issuance of Identity Cards would commence after the Matriculation exercise.
All matriculating Students of the Directorate would be required to show evidence of School fees payment.
There is no additional payment for academic gowns.

All Principal Officers, Deans and Academic Directors are required to be dressed in academic robes for the academic procession.

All relevant organs of the University (the Electrical Unit, Physical Planning, Ceremonial Committee, Security etc) are requested to take necessary action toward the success of the ceremony.
