Pre-Degree Application Form is Out For Lagos State University 2017/2018
This is to inform the general public that the authority of Lagos State University LASU has released their  Pre-Degree Programmes application form For 2017/2018 academic session.
The Programme shall run for One (1) Academic Session, beginning from October, 2017, to September, 2018. It is an intensive programme to prepare Candidates with deficiency in their O’Level result and also prepare them for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination [UTME] for admission into the 100 Level Degree programmes of Lagos State University.

The Programme is located at the Lagos State University, Epe Campus.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must have Credit Passes in at least three (3) Subjects (i. e. Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government and Economics, Literature in English, Christian Religious Studies (CRS), Accounting at Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, GCE or NECO at NOT more than two (2) sittings.
  • Candidates who meet the admission requirements will be invited for a written qualifying examination.

  • Government
  • Economics
  • Literature in English
  • Christian Religious Studies (CRS)
  • Accounting 


CRITERIA FOR TRANSITING TO 100 LEVEL:
For transition to 100 Level, each candidate is expected to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and also OBTAIN the minimum JAMB Cut Off Mark for the University Admission as well as comply with the University Screening Test as may be prescribed.
In addition, all CANDIDATES with deficiencies are to REGISTER for WAEC and /or NECO, and are expected to pass all the relevant deficient subjects.

Successful Candidates are eligible to be allocated to the 100 Level Courses of related Faculties/Schools/College: Engineering, Science, Management Sciences, Education, Social Sciences, Law, School of Agriculture, Transport, Mass Communication, Nursing, Dentistry and College of Medicine, at the end of the Programme.

On admission, if any Candidate voluntarily withdraws after two (2) weeks, a month or two, from the Programme, only 30% request for refund of school fee can be made by such Candidate before the end of First Term of the Calendar Year. Any request made after that period will NOT be entertained.
The PERFORMANCE of the current Pre-Degree Candidates in the 2017 UTME is as follows: above 200 (65.4%), 180-199(23.6%) and others (11%) respectively.

  • Prospective Candidates should visit www.lasu.edu.ng and select MAKE PAYMENT option in the drop down list at the top, to make the required payment of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000:00) only for the 2017/2018 LASU Pre – Degree Studies.
  • After payment, Candidate should proceed to register online

CLOSING DATE:
Six (6) weeks from the date of this publication.

DATE FOR QUALIFYING EXAMINATION AND INTERVIEW:
The dates for the Qualifying Examination and Interview for the Successful
Candidates for the 2017/2018 Calendar Year, will be announced later.

This is to inform the general public that Admission into LASU Empowerment Programmes in Fisheries & Aquaculture is out. Applications are welcomed from suitably qualified candidatesr for admission into the under-listed programmess in Lagos State University Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.

2.0 OBJECTIVES:
The major objective of the Certificate programmes in Fisheries and Aquaculture, is to produce proficient persons with good knowledge of Fisheries and aquaculture to employ themselves and be in positions of employers of labor and thereby satisfying the manpower, required at National and Continental levels in Fisheries, Aquaculture and allied disciplines for economic development. In addition, it will enhance the employability of those who may not be entrepreneurs. 
This Certificate will qualify candidates for funding schemes. There are opportunities for LASU graduates, who possess any of these certificates, to access START-UP FUNDS of the LAGOS STATE GRADUATE SUPPORT SCHEME and other funding agencies.

MODE AND TIME OF LECTURE:

SCHOOL FEE:
The School fee is Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00) only payable into LASU Account.

LASU: Management Move to Clear all Outstanding Results
The Lagos State University has recently processed and graduated over 70%of the External System students, at both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. The University has also started the processing of the results of all other categories of students who may have legitimately completed their course of studies, but are yet to graduate owing to one reason or the other.

The University is therefore calling on all students of the Lagos State University External System who are yet to graduate to link up with the Directorate of the External System either in person or visit the designated website: http://studentservices.lasu.ng/lasues_makeup/ for registration.

The deadline for online registration for the examination is Friday June 16th 2017.

The External System has concluded arrangements to conduct make-up examinations for all courses yet to be passed by students or students with outstanding/missing results. The examinations have been slated to take place as follows:
  • Saturday July 8th and 9th 2017: 100, 200 & – 300 Levels.
  • Saturday July 15th and Sunday July 16th 2017: 400 & 500

Students are to note that all examinations will hold at the Main Campus, Ojo. They are to visit the online website: http://studentservices.lasu.ng/lasues_makeup for Registration of Courses, Applicable Fees and Examination Time Schedule.

How To Apply For LASU Postgraduate Admission Form [2017/18]

This is to notify the general public that Postgraduate for For Lagos State University (LASU) is out. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Lagos State University (LASU) postgraduate programmes for the 2017/2018 academic session.

LASU POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION – GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.
The University requires five [ 5 ] CREDITS including English Language at Ordinary Level (GCE, WASC, SSCE, NECO and NABTEB) for ALL courses and credit in MATHEMATICS at Ordinary Level for SCIENCE, SOCIAL SCIENCES, MANAGEMENT SCIENCES and EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT courses.

LASU POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION – METHOD OF APPLICATION.
Applicants are required to pay the sum of Twenty Five Thousand Three Hundred Naira (N25,300.00) non-refundable application fee into LASU Account on Line.

All applicants shall be required to sit for qualifying Entrance Examination on the Main Campus.


LASU POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION – CLOSING DATE.
Sale of application forms will be closed four (4) weeks from the date of this publication.
Application forms for all programmes should be submitted on-line and a copy of the e-Registration slip printed out by the applicant.

PLEASE NOTE
  • Candidates who have not completed the National Youth Service Corps assignment or their current Postgraduate Programmes need not apply.
  • All academic transcripts must be received latest two weeks after the close of sale of forms.
  • Request for transfer of processed application forms from one Department to another will not be entertained.
  • Candidates must personally attend the selection and written examinations as make-up test will not be conducted.
